The Band entered their first contest of the year and also made their debut in the first section playing Philip Sparke's challenging 'London Overture'. The contest was hosted by N.E Midlands Brass Band Association and provided a fabulous platform for a 'practice' run out as this piece is also the chosen test piece at the all important Midlands Area contest on March 7th.
Their creditable 5th placing is a reflection of the hard work that has been put in by all players and MD up to now but more importantly the band can now use feedback from the adjudicator John Berryman to further tweak their preparations and performance for the up and coming contest in Bedworth, Warwickshire.
